WORKING OUT with DIVINE PRESENCE

When we are on a conscious spiritual journey, sooner or later we spend time in Silence. But this is just the beginning of our potential journey.

In search of peace by Bindaas Madhavi

After Silence, we may need to spend time on imbalances in our field.  This can happen when our “quiet time” results in tough, yucky stuff appearing on the scene.   Thoughts and feelings which are out of balance, unpleasant, heavy or unprocessed do frequently show up.  Unsettling issues are a part of our dialogue with the Greater Whole.

This is the Divine Presence talking with us about what we need to focus on  to remain in balance. Unsettling feelings are not the result of being in Silence. They are the result of our seeking inner peace! When we go into Silence we are seeking peace, balance, wholeness and centeredness.  If we have unresolved issues with a co-worker, a spouse or a friend, we are likely to have them pop up after a period of sitting in Silence.  In fact, many people never go into the Silence for this very reason.  They are afraid that issues they do not want to look at will show up.

Guess what?  Unpleasant issues, thoughts and feelings are ALREADY in our energy field, draining us of our Light and life force energy!  They are already causing imbalance.  Just because we are not thinking about them, does not mean they go away.  In fact, because we are trying to “resist” them, they are even more demanding of our attention. The quickest way to resolve any unpleasant issue is to work in sacred space with our unresolved thoughts and feelings which are causing us stress or anger.

Anyone want to join me at the beach for a good conversation? by Stuck in Customs

It is easy to say well “she should do this” or “he would be a whole lot happier if …”. However this will never bring resolution to an imbalance affecting us.  These responses are actually a  form of gossip and can perpetuate and expand the imbalance.  As long as we focus on what others could or should be doing, we miss the lesson for ourselves.  We are the ones who  have to take the steps to re-establish inner peace for ourselves. Then others sense a shift in us and they are also affected by our coming into greater balance.

Coming into balance and inner peace is our part of the partnership with All That Is.  No one else can do this work for us. The more we engage in this self-work,  the more expansive our inner peace becomes. It begins to permeate our entire being and all our affairs for the positive.  If this is hopeful or of interest to you,  keep seeking and you will find exactly what you are meant to discover.  There are infinite ways to undertake a work out process from Silence to release.   Here is one you might try and adapt for you own purposes.

Step by Step by Alice Popkorn

WORKING OUT with DIVINE PRESENCE–  When we notice charged feelings and thoughts, causing imbalances, one option is to work them out within a sacred space, through writing to Divine Presence and then letting the imbalances go.  Here are some steps towards that goal.

1.  Open a sacred space in which to work.  This gives us access to Divine wisdom, energy, love and support even when we are writing by ourselves. ( See Note A, for ideas of how to do this.)

2.  The letter

  • Get a journal solely for these writings and date each letter. Sign your name as you would in any letter.
  • Address the letter to Dear God/ Beloved Oneness/ Perfect Love/ Great I AM/  Mohamed/Mary/Jesus/Buddha/Saint Germain/Ascended Masters, etc.
  • Keep this journal in a safe place where you are sure no one will find it or read it.

3.  Explore the specific situation around which you have strong feelings which is causing you imbalance.

  • Begin by writing about your feelings.
  • Write as clearly as possible and with total honesty.
  • Include thoughts as well as feelings about the situation.
  • Write as much as you can until you feel really done.
  • Sign your letter each time you finish for the day

4.  Ask in the Silence what fears and blocked energy you are carrying which are manifesting as imbalanced energy specifically related to you journal topic.

  • Specify the fears and other blocked energy in the journal as notes after your letter.

5.  Go into a space of stillness and call for the sacred flame (within all of us) to consume all blocked energies you have identified which are causing turbulence and imbalance in your energy field from their originating source in this lifetime or from any previous life form you have taken.

  • If forgiveness comes to mind forgive self and others completely.

6.  Give thanks for the healing support and vibration clearing of your energy field.

7. Continue to write about this imbalance as long as it remains in your consciousness following this process each day you write about it.

  • Every time you enter into stillness for clearing, healing energy will consume the low vibrating thoughts and feelings separating you from Peace.
  • You are only responsible for your own feelings. If you change, others involved in your situation will be profoundly affected as well.
  • Take as much time on the issues as you need, knowing that your desire and intention for Inner Peace will be completely supported.

NOTE A:  Here is one way to open sacred space.  ” I call forth my Highest “I AM” Self , the Angelic Host, the Ascended Masters (Jesus/Krishna/Mary/Mohammed/ Moses/St. Ignatius/Buddha ,etc.), the Nature Intelligences, Cosmic Light Beings of the Universe, Divine Ancestors and Divine Physicians  to help me hold this sacred healing space.  I may then say, “Spirit of the Living God/Great Oneness /Divine Wholeness/Holy Spirit, come forth into this space dedicated to wholeness and balance.  My thanks.”

Suffering and Sorrow : Released

All suffering and sorrow feelings are due to un-forgiveness energy.  Where there is sorrow, there is  un-forgiveness energy.   The two exist together.  What can we do about sorrow and suffering energy?

Head in Hands by Alex E. Proimos

Craig and Dana have been married 18 years.  They love each other, are happily employed, have two children and are healthy.  However their sex life by their own report has always been difficult.  They have a long history of missed opportunities, guilt feelings, sadness energy, failure and frustration energy with each other sexually.  Yet there is love on both sides for the other.  They have “tried everything” including therapy, changing techniques, weekend get-aways with support groups, videos, talking with trusted friends. They have yelled, accused, defended and attacked each other repeatedly through the years.  They have also tried calmly taking with each other about what is missing, wrong and not working.

After years of deep sorrow and frustration,  we talked about forgiveness.  Their work began with forgiveness of self for all their perceived failures, the years of unsuccessful attempts at loving intimacy and for their own judgments they held about their partners.

This is what it looked like.  Dana would sit in silence and ask to be shown places of un-forgiveness she carried about herself regarding her sexual relationship with Craig. She would sometimes get a snippet of a past conversation, a fragment of an argument or a memory of a specific weekend where she had sobbed in great anguish. She would focus on one of these images from the past and say, “I forgive myself totally and completely.” She might say this 20 or 30 times or more if the pain was especially raw.  Sometimes she cried so hard, she reported having to write out the forgiveness statements because she could not speak them aloud.  Sometimes the same situation or memory would surface again weeks later and she would have to forgive herself all over again.

Craig was following his own process as well.  He tended to remember specific times where he felt he had failed and worked through those scenarios at first.  As these receded in intensity, other memories presented themselves where he had been deeply sad, then others where he had been frustrated and eventually times of feeling guilty surfaced.  Both Dana and Craig were led in Silence to different processes for their individual work.

holding hands by annstheclaf

When they got to a place where no more need for self -forgiveness was coming up, they switched to forgiveness of each other.  Slowly, slowly compassion for self and for each other began to surface.  They were able to spend intimate time together in tiny steps with no expectations. The beginning steps made without the mantel of the  past led to more trust, more success, more expressed loving wholeness over time. They began to find their way together by retuning to forgiveness of self and each other when they hit more road blocks. They both reported success in their efforts to spend intimate time together.  They also reported that throughout their entire lives, they were seeing new evidence of this forgiveness energy working and smoothing out other challenges they faced.

Forgiveness work, whatever the topic is, has to begin with ourselves.  We have to forgive ourselves for what we see as our anger, sadness, mistakes, ignorance, etc.  This is the only way we can totally and completely forgive another person from the heart.  Both parts of this process, forgiveness of self and of another have to be taken together.  Forgiveness of self allows the forgiveness of another to fully manifest. If we do not see our own brokenness and sorrow and move to release it from our energy field, we will never be able to forgive another wholly and completely. Suffering and sorrow then remain with us in our energy field.

Karl was divorced by his wife after 22 years of marriage.  They were in counseling for a year before the divorce was final but his wife felt the situation was irreconcilable.  When I began working with Karl,  he was still very angry, deeply hurt, with feelings of abandonment, mistreatment and rage.  He could not feel any energy for a new relationship even 4 years after his divorce.  He felt betrayed through no fault of his own.

Anguish Ian (or:The Scream) by sparktography

When we began talking about self-forgiveness, he was totally closed to this.  He was divorced by his wife after all.  Karl told me his wife was the one at fault and he had nothing to forgive himself about.   We continued to talk about his feelings around this divorce and eventually we tried a session in sacred space, where he simply said, “I forgive myself totally and completely”,  over and over until it felt complete for that day.  There was no image of what that forgiveness might be about specifically.  He worked with this for several weeks and eventually the dam broke and he was able to grieve the loss and forgive himself for all the things he was blaming himself for, which he could not see nor name at the time.

Divine Grace was present in these sessions working with his unseen energy, unseen by me and by him as well.  Nonetheless, the forgiveness progressed and in time he also did the needed work in forgiving his wife.   He eventually began to date other people and reported he was a different person completely from who he had been in his earlier marriage.  He tells me he still uses that process especially around things he does not understand  but knows are out of balance.

Steps to take when suffering and sorrow are present.

1. Create a sacred space by saying, I open a sacred space with my I AM Energy/Eternal Self/Spiritual Self and Divine Presence in the highest forms ( angels, ascended teachers, divine ancestors, nature intellegences, etc.)  to help me forgive myself.

2.  Sit quietly to settle into the sacred space.  Set the intention of your work by stating in your mind that the forgiveness work is around your marriage, your relationship with your mother, the loss of your child or spouse, the relationship with your boss, specific abuse or trauma you have experienced,  etc.

3. Begin silently to yourself saying,   “I forgive myself totally and completely“.  Repeat this until you feel this in your heart.  You might put your hands on your heart as you are saying this.

4.  If  you try this for 15 minutes and feel little or nothing, try this.  “Sacred Flame from within me, consume any blocked emotional, mental, self-protective ( thermal) energy, spiritual energy or curse energy I am manifesting which is keeping me from being able to forgive myself.  I command this stuck energy out of my field, now. Thanks be to God/All That is. ”  Wait 5 minutes in this energy.

5. Return to #3 again.  If  this is still not working, write this out in a journal, again and again.  However, remember to open a sacred space within which to work.  This is most important!

6. When you feel no more un-forgiveness of self is present, which could take days or months,  use this same process for others in your situations.  “I forgive ___________ totally and completely.” Even when you are working with the death of another, do this part of the work.  Often we are angry, sad and out of balance with a loved one for having left us here without them.

Sunset and balancing rock stack by James Jordan

This process works because when we open Sacred Space we engage our Eternal, Spiritual Selves and all the Loving Presence of All That Is to help us heal.  When we surrender to loving forgiveness, we return to our natural state of balance which has left us due to experiences in the past.  We come into the present and thereby heal from the past.

Getting Help from God

Devon was facing a killer week of projects, papers and exams.  He had 1-2 pieces due every day for 6 days with a couple of exams thrown in for good measure.   Additionally, he was managing an eleven day concert tour with fourteen guys up and down the East Coast, beginning immediately after his mid-terms.  He also had an eight person road trip

Learning by osmosis by Mickipedia

with friends from all over the country heading to a rural farm house directly after the concert tour and a few family commitments, including at least one birthday.  To put it mildly, he was crazy stressed.

His strategy was to ask Divine Presence everyday to order his day with grace and ease to allow him to work as effectively as possible. He enthusiastically reported that he was knew without a doubt that he had been supported by Spirit because he had produced a 5 page research proposal, 2 page dance paper, an online blog post for his employer and reviewed all the technical terms for his exam in one four hour block of time . He was elated and knew Spirit had been helping him.  Of course, he had called that energy to his situation. He even finished early with time to edit footnotes. He was most enthusiastic about how this had all gone.

Chester, who was his brother’s legal guardian, was feeling compelled to confront his brother with the threat of committing him because of his recent erratic behavior,  due it seemed, to a lapse in taking his drugs for a mental condition.  Though Chester was relatively sure his actions would provoke serious anger and blame from his brother, he felt he had no choice.  Chester went ahead with the confrontation and the implied threat of legal action. This resulted in months of estrangement, tension, anger and irritation between Chester and his brother.

In a similarly charged setting,  Lisette felt she needed to move to file in the county to have her 88 year old mother’s driver’s license taken away.

Trusted old pony by Maistora

Every time she thought of taking these formal actions,  she felt woozie and lightheaded.  She realized that this was not sitting well with her though at the same time, she felt she had to move ahead because her mother was not competent to drive.   In talking with Lisette, she decided to try asking for a sacred solution for her situation before she filed the legal papers. She was optimistic when she left saying that she would surely try this before moving ahead with the legal steps with the county.

There are always options of a Divine Nature which can save us untold heartache and pain, anger and blame.  Try a Divine Solution first with very charged situations.

Tori was deeply concerned about her husband.  He was depressed, overweight, lethargic and prone to colds and illness. Her husband, Bim, was not open to prayer or to Tori’s comments, “designed to help”.   She was very frustrated not being able to do anything helpful for him and yet she feared he would not get any help until he was really sick.   She decided to try to work with his Angels and to offer prayers for her husband through them.

Austin Cemetery Angel by Eric in SF

In enlisting their help, she said, “I speak to the Angels around my husband.  I call forth Bims’  Highest Divine Energy to lead him in perfect ways from the darkness he is in. Consume the lethargy and the source of depression that is draining his energy.  Guide him to his life’s purpose and to the joy that is within.  Thank you. ” This is a paraphrase of the first prayer she said and others followed until there was visible change in his energy.

Martha was repeatedly angry with her mother.  After visiting, she usually spent the hour retuning home fuming about the visit.  This tension had been going on for a number of years but recently it was becoming deeply disturbing to Martha.  She did not know why she was so very angry.  She reported feeling horribly unloving and mean whenever anger erupted which was after all visits and most phone calls with her mother.  She took her anger into sacred space with another person. She prayed for the core blocked energy manifesting as recurring anger be completely released from her field.  She called in the Angel of Compassion to be with her in all dealings with her mother.

These are all examples of ways to call the Divine Presence into our lives. Divine Energy is totally surrounding us, all the time, in infinite amounts. We are free to use this energy everyday in all the ways we can imagine.  We get notably more powerful responses though if we come to this Divine Energy Source, demonstrating some basic spiritual truths.

  • Give over control of projects, outcomes, efforts, and the methods you think may be required to  manifest the results you want.  Allow Spirit to work through you for the Highest Good as you create.
  • Hold the space for a Sacred Solution to a difficult situation.  Call that Energy right into the midst of your life.
  • Live knowing that all people are Spiritual Beings at their core, regardless of their behavior.  Call to the Light in others, enlist their Highest I AM Presence, when entering into prayer.
  • Work with the Angels (or Ascended Masters)  when direct prayer with or for a person seems impossible or unwelcome.
  • Call  God to clear all the core blocked energy manifesting as negative feelings you may be carrying towards yourself or another.
  • Activate your own relationship with God, even if you are unsure about the characteristics of that relationship.  It is more wondrous than one can imagine.

How Does Spiritual Healing Work?

Spiritual healing is the healing of the unseen energy in our energy field.  It is not magic!  We know that we are out of balance if we become angry or afraid about something in our lives.  Anger, fear, shame and guilt each have a unique vibration which is different from the vibrations of joy, laughter, contentment and love.  When we carry anger in our energy field regardless of its origin, the vibration of anger permeates our body.  That vibration leaves our body when we reach resolution regarding the anger.  Or, the anger vibration may remain in our energy field for years,  if it is not completely resolved, released or the person forgiven, who is related to the anger.  Spiritual healing is the process of releasing blocked energy which is not serving us well in our lives.

Spiritual healing recognizes that our thoughts, feelings, actions, memories, experiences and bodies are all one interrelated flow of energy impacting each other in thousands of ways every day. This is the mind, body, spirit connection. Every thought and feeling we have resonates throughout our bodies.   If we experience trauma, sadness, abuse, fear, abandonment,  our body registers this emotional content in the body.  When we are stressed, out of balance, we are more vulnerable to contract infection, virus, parasites, etc.  When we are out of balance emotionally or mentally, this ALWAYS shows up in our bodies, sometimes immediately and sometimes years later but it ALWAYS shows up.

The way to stay healthy and in balance is to do our inner work. This  work most powerfully consists of  identifying and releaseing blocked emotional, mental and spiritual energy which is manifesting as pain, hurt, anger, broken relationships, poor communications, repeating confrontations, back pain, cancer, ADHD, depression, infections, irritable bowel syndrome, etc. and all other types of imbalances in our physical bodies.

Each and every one of us is here to learn to be in greater states of Peace and Joy. Some of us recognize this and others among us do not.   We can choose to ignore our inner work but eventually we have to do the work to find Peace and Contentment in our daily lives.   We can spend lifetimes on the externals of what others think of us, on material possessions and on public attributes of prestige and success.  The externals however have next to nothing to do with feeling successful, peaceful and balanced inside.   The goal of spiritual healing is Peace and Wholeness inside. Then our lives, our relationships, our jobs and our bodies come into greater and greater balance.

When we release deep sadness, un-forgiveness, resentment, hatred, judgement, shame, fear, etc. our minds and bodies come into greater balance.  When I open a sacred space, I call Divine Presence into this dimension to work with me to help others who are in need.  As I begin to work with another,  I don’t know in my “human mind” exactly what blocked energy may be manifesting as infection, inflammation, Parkinson’s, Alzheimers, Crohns or Grave’s Disease.   I do know that some set of blocked energy is manifesting as imbalance in the body.   I also know that Divine Knowing knows all. Through listening, with the intent to come into balance, we will learn to identify the imbalances and then they can be cast out of our energy fields allowing the body to heal.

Some people come to me for a “quick fix”. Those rarely manifest.  We have to steadfastly seek to connect with Divine Energy because the outer world is more visible, more tangible and seemingly more real to many of us.  Until we have real experience with Divine Presence, the thought of this Presence is a vague possibility.  We can experience Divine Presence though other people, nature, creations, etc. but we have to eventually go inside and have a dialog with Divine Presence and ourselves to find Divine Connection. God/Divine Presence/All That Is  is within.  Our  I AM Presence, the part of us which is wholly connected and balanced, is within.   If we seek with the attitude that we will get our body fixed and go right on with our behaviors and thoughts which have brought us to imbalance,  we won’t be able to sustain any form of balance, mentally or physically.

Our bodies and more importantly our souls won’t allow us to be out of balance without letting us know in very powerful ways. We get as many chances as we need to release resentment, rage, blame, self-punishment and un-forgiveness but there is no way to fool the body into balance.  We come into balance when we are done with giving our power and attention to negative energy which is manifesting as imbalance.

To Begin Inner Spiritual Healing Work:

1. Relax into Silence with the spoken intent to connect more deeply with Divine Presence.  I intend to connect with Divine Presence.  I open a Sacred Space for healing and wholeness. Wait there a while and be.

2. Identify a negative draining thought, feeling or emotion which is in your immediate energy field such as rage, for example.  Or name the diagnosed imbalance you want to clear blocked energy for,  such as breast cancer.

3. State aloud with conviction,  With the Energy of the Most High, I command out the blocked core source of the rage I am feeling, (of the breast cancer, I am manifesting) through all time and space, with the intent to come into greater Balance and Peace.   I affirm my desire to connect more deeply with Divine Presence in my life.

4. I offer my deepest thanks for this support and for the power of this healing within me.

__________

It may seem easier to get medical drugs, therapies and pills to take care of a situation. However, the same imbalances that brought the last sinus infection, the last back ache, the last heart attack, the last cancer stay with us unless we release the thoughts and feelings that have caused the imbalances in the first place. We get all the chances we need to come into balance.  If you want to be done with chronic imbalance, go inside.  Work with Divine Presence with the intent of creating more Peace and Balance, Health and Wholeness.  All healing modalities can be supported and strengthened with inner spiritual work.  Release that which you know is out of balance and all else will follow.

Begin Today.  Sit today in Silence and cast out that which is manifesting as imbalance in your life. Repeat these processes frequently until the negative emotions have left your being or until the physical imbalance is re-balanced.  Healing comes a little at a time.  Keep calling out the imbalances, a little at the time.

Infinite Source

Infinite Source means just that, the Source of All That Is has no boundaries, limits or perimeters.  It is vast possibility without any limitation. This is a challenging concept to grasp, and even harder to actualize in our lives.  Both are possible though and embracing Infinite Source is life changing.

Vastness by melolou
Vastness by melolou

Infinite Source means there is no shortage of supply, love, wealth, humor, creativity, food, health, peace, balance, etc. Infinite Source is one of the immutable Laws of Creation.  Yet, we experience all sorts of limitations on Earth and in our lives at the present time.   This earth dimension we live in, does not generally recognize Infinite Source in our daily lives.  It is seen as a theoretical possibility for the most part which we generally do not know how to activate.  So for practical purposes, it does not exist.

I would like to challenge this view and suggest that we need to pick up all our threads of creativity and imagination and launch ourselves and our lives into the energy of Infinite Source to more effortlessly and effectively help us with what we have come to do in this lifetime.  We create the stifling limits within which we live, operate, breath and create. We, with our own minds, think as humans think, with boundaries, issues, concerns, problems, limitations, conditions, improbabilities and nay saying.

Blue by derpunk
Blue by derpunk

What if there really are no actual boundaries except the ones we are giving our power to in this lifetime? Perhaps we have all bought into accepted conventions and agreed to standard deviations for conditions, improbabilities and nay-saying?  Maybe there is a field out there where you and I will meet and none of this will actually matter. Let’s say we could really live in full acceptance of Infinite Source even in one area of our lives.  Might it be worth giving it a try?

Repeatedly throughout my years of spiritual seeking, the one thing that comes to me over and over again is that I think too small, envision with limitations, doubt the vastness of the Whole and generally look upon the Divine with human eyes and thoughts.  Of course, I am human!  However, I don’t think that my humanness is the authority by which I live and create.   My “I AM” energy is the authority by which I live and create. My Oneness with All That Is is the authority by which I harness goodness and create with love.  In contrast,  my humanness is often the wagging finger energy standing at the doorway of my mind saying, “un-uh, you can’t do that, that is not possible, that is dreamy eyed thinking,  that is absurd, just fool’s folly”.  For years and years, I listened to what was not possible, not probable and gave that energy a great deal of power.

Those years were generously filled with physical pain and suffering on my part.  Of course, I was giving my energy and power to many things that I thought I was going to have to do which I would not like, would be bad at doing or better yet would probably fail at. UGH!!  I was immediately caught up short when I realized one day that I had really, really had chronic back pain for 16 years.   I was totally surprised at this on one level because I secretly thought of myself as a jock.  Well, I was, in one part of my brain.  I had commuted to work with my bike, I had played tennis and taught Jazzercise, taken yoga and loved to swim.  I had walked regularly and weight lifted whenever my body allowed.   It seemed very weird that somehow I had become a handicapped person with this chronic pain.  The insurance companies would concur with this accessment given all the doctors I was seeing.

For a while this realization of  these years of pain, made me seriously angry with my body.   I was also furious with everyone that pain was my constant companion.  I eventually became outwardly angry and negative until that wore both me and my family out.  I then became quiet in my suffering ( for a very short while) and eventually I had the thought, perhaps I could be pain free.  This was the first time in 16 years that I had had that thought.   It was just a glimmer of hope but it fueled a huge change within me.

This has been my very own, self-created, experience at limiting my life, my health, my options.  I  really did buy into the fact that I would probably be in pain my entire life.   However, I became more and more determined to seek another reality for me.  I was completely fatigued and impatient with doctors, body workers, therapists of all sorts.  One therapist told me I was psychologically ill and the pain was all imagined.  Another said I was one of the sanest persons she had had the privilege to meet.  I thought then and there, I think I’ll believe the last one.  It feels better.  And thus, I began looking for that elusive Infinite Source.  I did not know that was what IT was called then but I do now.  I now know that my thoughts become my reality. I can choose to create conditions, boundaries, prerequisites, or limitations or not.  The choice is mine.

Usually when I am angry, frustrated, impatient or snippy, I am giving my power to limitations, conditions and fears which are working me in negative ways.  When I am peaceful, happy, loving and understanding, I am going with the flow.   Infinite Source is a huge vastness of possibility and there are absolutely no bounds on that Source except the ones we create.

When I finally got that I might be able to live in greater health with pain free energy, I began to see all sorts of new help around me that had always been there.  I had just not seen it.  The limitations which I had made my reality, literally blocked the channels of Infinite Source around me. I began to change what I thought was true, who I spent time with, what I spent time doing and how I characterized myself to myself, and to others.  I tried out aspects of Infinite Source such as  “if I don’t give it a try, who will?” and  “when will it be a good enough time to do something I love?” and  “who is your authority here anyway?” and finally, “girl, figure out what you love and do it!”.   And slowly I did.  I have now been pain free with the exception of normal bumps and bruises for so many years that I know I will continue pain free,  the remainder of my life.

Take a leap of faith and truly imagine what has seemed impossible for you.

Call forth Divine Assistance and go for it.

Counter the nay- sayers within and without with calm resolve.

Honor your path as part of the learning process that leads to our own true selves, pain included.

Proclaim Infinite Source and give your power to those possibilities, without bounds,  in all situations.

Try giving your power to imagining and working with Infinite Source.   You will truly experience that Infinite Source is seriously real. The only boundaries and limitations we have are the ones we accept and create for ourselves.

Unpacking Anger

Anger has a life of its own. How does that happen?  We might be having a very fine day and then that old argument about making plans for the weekend comes up or age old wounds about spending money to celebrate a special occasion appear and suddenly, real nastiness sets in.   We can be in the car and make a seemingly mild comment about going another way to the store and every other issue ever discussed about driving comes crashing into the car between you and your companion.  Suddenly Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde are present in full regalia.  Who are those folks erupting into yelling, posturing, accusing and defending?

Anger is like temporary insanity. The emotions take on such presence that we begin to feel they are real, powerful and overwhelming.

Coffee Argument by
Coffee Argument by alasdair.d

They aren’t actually any of those things.  Anger is neither real, powerful nor overwhelming though our reaction to it can well be overwhelming especially when we are in the thick of the interaction.  Anger is not real in the sense that it is a passing emotion, not eternal and it is certainly not powerful as it is not of the Great Oneness.  Erupting and repeating anger is a repeatedly debilitating experience which most of us would love to be free of.  How do we unpack anger from our energy field, especially when we are, of course,  right?

The very first step to unpacking anger is to want it unpacked, more than you want to be right. If you are really ready to stop giving your power to anger, you have to put it first on your list before all other feelings as the one you are going to get rid of.  It takes a great deal of determination and commitment but it can be done.  It takes honesty with oneself and before Divine Presence.

The next step to unpacking anger is to pick one recent anger encounter and take it into meditation and  reflection with Divine Presence.  Here is a story of how one partner worked on her anger until it dissipated.

Kevin and Mary repeat versions of  anger every time they begin to plan Thanksgiving for their family gathering.

Everyone take their seat... or any seat, please by OldOnliner
Everyone take their seat... or any seat, please by OldOnliner

Kevin comes from a formal family and Mary from an informal family and therefore their approach to entertaining is very different.  Though the specific incidents differ each year, the anger and angst for each of them by self-report, feel exactly the  same.  Mary began to be more and more determined to clear her anger response to Kevin  because she was increasingly bothered by having those arguments taint the entire family gathering.

Mary began to work on smaller issues around entertaining in an effort to clear the air leading up to family gatherings.  She found that she got angry when she felt that the menu,  buying of the food and  getting the house ready was all ending up on her plate.  Every time it seemed that this was happening, she would get defensive and anger would erupt.   She recognized and named the fear as “it is all up to me to make the event successful”.   As this fear “ran her” in most conversations about entertaining,  she would begin early to keep herself from making any commitments which could pile up and result in her feeling  “it is all up to me”.  This would drive Kevin crazy because he simply wanted the responsibilities clear.  Mary would steadfastly not participate in clarifying the responsibilities so that she would not have it  “end up being all on her” .  Needless to say, entertaining was stressful.

After Mary specifically named her fear,  she began to see this fear morphing and showing up in many other areas of her life, including at work and with her friends as well.  Though she remained determined to release this fear, it simply did not seem to be able to go.  She took this into Silence and got a clear sense that there was a deeper more gripping fear that she had not even known was there.  Mary realized that she really feared “that she would make  a major effort and fail or be embarrassed”.  This felt solid and intensely honest as it had been with her for many years.

Mary said this was exactly how she felt performing as a young dancer. She would practice for months at a time and  had been really embarrassed numerous times about her performances.

This fear was still in her energy field though it had morphed into issues of entertaining in her home.  By focusing on one specific situation,  she began to be able to let it go and unpack part of her wall of anger.   As long as the anger seemed to be one overwhelming, huge, repeating network of arguments,  she was unable to do anything but protect herself with all her might against the possibility of impending failure.

This may sound like a psychological assessment of the situation Mary faced but all her insight and clarity came as a result of taking this into Silence and reflecting on these issues through her  journaling.  Here are the steps she took to come to this clarity herself and to release the core fear running her efforts around entertaining with her husband.

  1. Open a sacred healing space in whatever way you feel comfortable.  ( Call in your Highest I Am Energy, Divine  Presence and Angelic Energy, for example.
  2. Focus on one specific argument in the recent past.
  3. Ask, “What am I afraid of, What is the fear which is fueling this repeating  argument?”
  4. What am I getting from holding onto this argument?  What is this argument costing me?
  5. Ask yourself, “Where else is this fear working in my life?
  6. Take all these situations into Silence and ask, “What is the core, root fear behind all this behavior?”
  7. Name the core fear.
  8. Call forth the Sacred Flame from within yourself and command the fear be completely consumed by this Divine Energy.  (Even if you feel you don’t know how this works, do it, it does work. )
